Field Day and Doolie Day In (10th)

The first part of BCT culminated in Field Day and Doolie Day In on Saturday. Field Day is basically a big athletic competition between all 10 squadrons that takes all morning. Here are some pictures I found of Nathan from that (out of 6000+!)
Below is a picture of the squadrons marching onto the field. Nathan's squadron is in front. He's in the second row, second from the right. [click on the picture to enlarge] I like this picture because you can see the first three or four squadrons in a long line behind Nathan's.
Here's a closer shot of Nathan - he's on the very left of the picture.
The competition brings out a lot of camaraderie and cheering - below is Nathan shouting (when we talked with him on the phone he definitely sounded hoarse!) He's in the middle of the picture, partly behind the guy with glasses.
As far as I can tell from the pictures, the only event Nathan participated in was the Log Carry (like a relay race). In the picture below he is on the left, just to the right of the girl in orange. I think he's waiting for his team's turn to carry the log for the squadron.
Below is him carrying the log. Each squadron had two logs going at the same time, and they had four or five teams of five people each for both logs. Nathan's at the left end of the closer log.
Here's a link to a WebGuy video of the Log Carry. The Aggressors (Nathan's Squadron) are in the light blue shirts, furthest away from the camera. I didn't actually pick Nathan out in the video, but I think he might be at about the 1:30 mark. http://www.usafawebguy.com/blog/field-day-15 (let me know if you can't see the video)

I think they might be marching off the field in the picture above.

After Field Day finished, the basics were released to relax all afternoon! They were given their phones back so that they could call home, and they were also provided lots of free food :D That's when Nathan was able to call us and talk for two hours. He also had this picture snapped by WebGuy:
Now I'll do another post about the basics' first couple days at Jacks Valley.
